Bicycles

Cycling Cilento Adventure leaves you the choice of bringing your own bike or renting one for the duration of your tour. In case you bring your own bicycle, Cycling Cilento Adventure cannot be held responsible for any damage due to theft or incident.

Our high quality rental bicycles are regularly maintained by professional mecanics. For both the Upper and Lower Cilento Bike Tours you will be furnished with the FRW Pearth (or equivalent), while for the Race Bike Tour you will cycle on the FRW Hunters Point (or equivalent). For road bike cyclists we strongly recommend bringing your own pedals and saddle.

For individual self-guided tours your rental bicycles will be equipped with luggage rack, carrier bags and repair kit.


Clothing

During cycling : race bike cyclists should take care to bring their personal technical cycling garments, including several sets of cycling shorts and shirts, gloves, wind cheater and rain gear. While the use of cycling helmets is not obligatory in Italy we strongly recommend you carry one. We will be glad to furnish them together with your rental bike. The Upper and Lower Cilento Tours can easily be cycled without the use specific tecnical clothing, although we strongly recommend bringing at least a pair of cycling shorts. As in recent years Southern Italy has been subject to short but heavy rain fall also in summer, it is important to bring rain gear also for June and September tours.

During evening hours : For evening hour activities comfortable casual clothing will suffice. Even if during early spring sea water temperatures are low, we recommend you bring your bathing costume.


Travel insurance

Quoted prices do not include travel or medical insurance. Even as our tours rarely travel other than quiet back roads, we strongly recommend all participants of the tours make sure they are covered by specific insurance before arriving in Italy. Remember that as a cyclist you are exposed at high risks when cycling on roads open to all traffic. That said in several years of cycling on Italian back roads we have never been subject to any major incidents.

For non-european participants it is our policy to receive proof of your insurance policy before confirming booking.
